Connie Ndhlovu"As a practicing NHS sonographer, my daily life is spent looking inside people to find answers. I founded Kerra Health to bridge the gap between expert clinical imaging and the community healing Bristol deserves."
With extensive experience in NHS diagnostic medical sonography — and a background spanning radiography and postgraduate specialization in General & Gynaecology Ultrasound at the University of the West of England — Connie brings hospital-grade clinical expertise to every private appointment.
When you choose Kerra Health for your private ultrasound scan, your investment travels further. Week 28
Balancing Expert Diagnostics with Deep Community Heart.
Every scan performed at Kerra Health is backed by extensive clinical practice. Connie's career began within the demanding environment of the NHS, where she developed an uncompromising eye for diagnostic accuracy and patient safety across both radiography and specialised sonography.
Ultrasound is a powerful diagnostic tool requiring immense technical skill, deep anatomical knowledge, and swift clinical decision-making. Having spent years on the NHS frontline, Connie brings that exact hospital-grade discipline to every independent appointment in Bristol.
"As a sonographer, my job is to look beneath the surface. During quiet moments in the scanning room, people talk. I began to notice a profound pattern — elderly patients whose deepest affliction was loneliness since losing a partner. Men who came in with physical tension, but were quietly drowning in depression. I realised that clinical medicine can treat the body, but it takes a community to heal the spirit."
That realisation drove Connie to found Kerra Health CIC alongside the private clinical practice — using commercial revenues to directly fund elderly companionship programmes and men's mental health circles across Bristol.

We demystify diagnostic sonography, provide free cancer education to communities across three continents, and build the career pathways that will solve the NHS sonographer shortage — led by two directors who together hold every competency this mission requires.
Kerra Health CIC was founded on a single conviction: the most powerful community health organisation is one built entirely around its founders' deepest expertise. We are not generalists. We are sonography specialists — and that precision is exactly what gives us authority, impact, and traction.
Two directors. One clinical. One technological. Both with lived experience of the communities we serve. One already running a CIC. One with an existing digital distribution channel reaching 300,000 Zimbabweans. Together, we hold every competency this mission requires.
Every public-facing programme we run is free to participate in. Commercial services, grants, and corporate partnerships fund all community activity. You do not pay to learn from Kerra Health CIC.
A completely free, online-first educational programme. Structured modules, live webinars, on-demand video, and a monthly Cancer & Scanning masterclass — all open to the public at zero cost.
Our heartbeat programme. A travelling public education campaign using ultrasound as the lens for understanding cancer detection, prevention, and early diagnosis — delivered to libraries, GP surgeries, community halls, and schools.
A branded portable demo station at shopping centres, university fairs, festivals, and community events. Real-time ultrasound on a large screen. Clinical commentary in plain English. The scan room brought to the street.
The UK faces a training placement crisis. Kerra Health CIC addresses it directly — with Kerra Health's private clinic as the anchor placement site, mentorship matching, and career support for young people who would otherwise never find their way in.
Our roots connect us to South Africa and Zimbabwe — two countries where sonography is critically under-resourced and cancer late-stage diagnosis rates are among the world's highest. Thanks to Sacha's MaiyoBot platform — already serving 300,000+ Zimbabweans via WhatsApp — we have instant digital distribution infrastructure that no comparable CIC can match.
Ultrasound is the most powerful early-detection tool in existence — and most people have no idea what it can do. At Kerra Health CIC, the Big C stands for Community, Courage, and the Chance to Catch It Early.
We charge those who can afford it — corporations, universities, private clinicians — and use every penny of surplus to fund services for those who cannot. This is structural sustainability, not charity dependency.
